Gambia: “The media was the most persecuted institution under Jammeh”
It is the turn of journalists to be heard by the Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission in the Gambia. In 22 years, 140 incidents of arrests and 15 arbitrary closures of media houses were recorded. There were cases of torture, illegal detention, forced disappearance and murder. And 20 % of the profession went into exile.
