Why is there a need for these guidelines? And how effective can they be? To answer these and more questions we invited <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AnnaNeistat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Anya Neistat<\/a> from the <a href=\"https:\/\/cfj.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Clooney Foundation for Justice<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EvaBuzo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Eva Buzo<\/a>, victims\u2019 representative at the ICC in the Bangladesh\/Myanmar case and head of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victimadvocatesinternational.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Victim Advocates International.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anya Neistat was featured in the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/nl-en\/title\/70299286\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">E team<\/a><\/em> series on Netflix in her work collecting evidence from Syria and her long career as an investigator has led her now to Ukraine. Eva Buzo spent almost two years in Cox\u2019s Bazar, the refugee camp in Bangladesh where Rohingya people fled from the atrocities in Myanmar. The way investigators approached survivors living in the camps has been widely cited as an example of the harm that an overconcentration of international actors collecting similar evidence can cause to the victims. And with the sheer number of international organisations active in Ukraine the risks of \u2018over-documenting\u2019 are pressing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We start off by questioning what documentation is actually needed for, and the different roles played by the actors investigating international crimes \u2013 human rights groups, journalists, and international lawyers. Eva and Anya also shed light on best practices when collecting evidence, referring to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.muradcode.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Murad Code<\/a>, these new Eurojust guidelines, and beyond.
