The local <a href=\"https:\/\/www.odpp.go.ke\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP)<\/a> has now announced a plan to prosecute individuals responsible for the killing of \u201cBaby Pendo\u201d, shootings and sexual violence, among whom are members of the police. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We talked to Kathy Roberts and Maxine Marcus, co-founders of <a href=\"https:\/\/partnersinjustice.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Partners in Justice International<\/a>, who have worked together with the ODPP and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipoa.go.ke\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Independent Policing Oversight Agency (IPOA)<\/a> to investigate these cases. Max and Kathy tell us how this investigation, the first to apply the Kenyan 2008 International Crimes Act \u2013 the domestication of the International Criminal Court Rome Statute \u2013 came about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We also heard from Nairobi-based journalist and long observer of international justice Tom Maliti. He talks about the scale of the killings and how Kenyans see their police.
