They included the court\u2019s president <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justsecurity.org\/154571\/us-dismantling-icc-challenges-tokyo\/\">judge Tomoko Akane<\/a>. And the <a href=\"https:\/\/balkaninsight.com\/2026\/08\/27\/ratko-mladic-genocide-convict-who-left-trail-of-blood-across-bosnia\/btj\/\">death of Ratko Mladic<\/a>, former Bosnian Serb general, in The Hague who was convicted of genocide at the U.N. tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. Also featured are two Dutch female icons that are big in Japan \u2013 Nijntje, the little rabbit of beloved childrens\u2019 books, and The Girl with the Pearl Earring, one of Vermeer\u2019s
