\n The power outages were to begin at 3:00 pm (1200 GMT) and last until the end of the day, the provider said in a statement.\n<\/p>\n
\n The statement did not say which neighbourhoods would be affected.\n<\/p>\n
\n \"The capital is switching to scheduled stabilisation power outages. This order was given by NPC (National Power Company) Ukrenergo,\" DTEK, a private energy firm, said in a statement on Telegram.\n<\/p>\n
\n \"Please consume electricity wisely -- this will help reduce the load on the network and avoid emergency outages,\" the firm said on its website\n<\/p>\n
\n Russia has targeted Ukrainian energy infrastructure throughout the war, in attacks that Ukraine says are war crimes aimed at wearing down its resistance.\n<\/p>\n
\n The strikes have often come ahead of winter, cutting heating and power to millions in freezing temperatures.\n<\/p>\n
