ICTR\/GREAT BRITAIN - BRITISH FOREIGN MINISTER VISITS ICTR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\nArusha, May 24, 2011 (FH) - British Foreign Office Minister, Henry Bellingham Tuesday visited the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) charged with the prosecution of main perpetrators of Rwandan genocide.\n<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p >\n<p >\nAccording to an ICTR press release the Minister who was accompanied by the British High Commissioner to Tanzania, Diane Corner held talks with ICTR senior officials including the President, Dennis Byron and the Prosecutor Hassan Bubacar Jallow.\n<\/p>\n<p >\nICTR administrators &lsquo;'Briefed the minister on the current development at the ICTR and in particular on the Tribunal's completion strategy and the establishment of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals.''\n<\/p>\n<p >\nMinister Bellingham on his side commended the work of the Tribunal in promoting international criminal justice and fighting culture of impunity as well as bringing to justice those who played leading role in the commission of genocide in Rwanda.\n<\/p>\n<p >\nHe also visited the United Nations Detention Facility (UNDF) which houses a total of 35 inmates.\n<\/p>\n<p >\nNI\/FK\/GF\n<\/p>\n<p>\n&nbsp;&copy; Hirondelle News Agency<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Arusha, May 24, 2011 (FH) -
