He allegedly tried to bribe five witnesses who had testified against Charles Taylor, asking them to revert to their testimonies.\n<\/p>\n<p >\nFour other people are charged with contempt of court for their attempts in bribing witnesses who had testified in the trial of a group close to the RUF during the civil war, namely Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC).&nbsp;&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p >\nAmong these four are Santigie Kanu and Brima Bazzy Kamara. Both have been sentenced to 40 and 45 years in jail, respectively, for crimes against humanity. They are currently serving their terms in Mpanga (Rwanda).\n<\/p>\n<p >\nAccording to the prosecution, they made phone calls from their jail to two people in Freetown, asking them to bribe witnesses.\n<\/p>\n<p >\nSM\/ER\/GF\/FK\n<\/p>\n<p>\n&copy; Hirondelle News Agency<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Hague, May 30, 2011 (FH) -
