Paris, July 4, 2011 (FH) - Two Belgian investigators acting on behalf of an international rogatory letter questioned on June 30 in Angoulême (West of France) a Rwandan citizen suspected of complicity of genocide. He was then committed to prison in Draguignan.

\nFabien Neretse, 54, has been living in Angouleme for several years under his father's name identity, Fabien Nsabimana.\n<\/p>\n
\nA case was opened against him in Belgium in 2004 for his alleged participation in the genocide and for crimes of war. He is notably charged for his responsibility in the murder on April 9, 1994, in Nyamirambo (Kigali) of Claire Beckers, a Belgian citizen married to a Rwandan. He is suspected of having incited Interahamwe to murder the couple.\n<\/p>\n
\nAccording to an indictment issued by Kigali in August 2007, he also allegedly "helped the Interahamwe, giving them weapons, transportation and money to support the massacres".\n<\/p>\n
\nBelgium might soon requests Neretse's extradition. Three trials related to the Rwandan genocide have already been organized in Belgium.\n<\/p>\n
\nNeretse hails from Ruhengeri. He was the Head of the Rwanda Coffee Office from 1989 to 1991.\n<\/p>\n
