\nArusha, October 21, 2011(FH) - The International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) will conduct next week special depositions hearings in two cases, while at the International Criminal Court (ICC) judges will hold plenary session.\n<\/p>\n

\nSpecial depositions: The UN Tribunal will next week hear special depositions in the case of former Rwandan Presidential Guard Commander, Protais Mpiranya, and that of the most wanted genocide fugitive Felicien Kabuga. Special depositions are meant to preserve the evidence for future use in case the accused were to be arrested. Mpiranya is charged with conspiracy to commit genocide, genocide or complicity in genocide, as alternative count, crimes against humanity and war crimes whereas Kabuga is accused of 11 counts, including conspiracy to commit genocide, genocide, complicity in genocide and direct and public incitement to commit genocide.\n<\/p>\n
\nDefence of Rwanda's former Planning Minister: The trial of ex-Rwandan Planning Minister Augustin Ngirabatware continues on Monday with the defence expected to call more witnesses. Four witnesses are expected to testify next week. He is charged with conspiracy to commit genocide, genocide or, in the alternative, complicity in genocide, direct and public incitement to commit genocide and crimes against humanity. So far 28 witnesses have testified in favor of the accused.\n<\/p>\n
\nICC\n<\/p>\n
\nJudges at the ICC will hold Plenary session between Monday and Wednesday.\n<\/p>\n
\nBemba and Katanga\/Ngudjolo cases: Next Thursday, hearings of two cases will continue at the ICC including the prosecution case of former Congolese rebel leader Jean Pierre Bemba and a joint trial of two other Congolese militia leaders Mathieu Ngudjolo and Germain Katanga. Ngudjolo will commence his defence.\n<\/p>\n
