ICTR\/KABUGA - KABUGA\u2019S SPECIAL EVIDENCE HEARING COMPLETED"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Arusha, May 23, 2012 (FH) \u2013 While the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) Tuesday concluded defence special evidence hearing for the most wanted genocide fugitive, Felicien Kabuga similar proceedings involving former Rwandan Minister for Defence, Augustin Bizimana were adjourned to June 25, 2012.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u2018\u2019Special deposition for Kabuga was completed yesterday (Tuesday) and a total of six witnesses have testified for the defence,\u2019\u2019 Tribunal\u2019s Spokesman, Roland Amossouga told Hirondelle News Agency on\u00a0Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Kabuga\u2019s Duty Counsel, Bahame Nyanduga commenced fielding\u00a0his witnesses on April 23, 2012.The prosecution\u2019s special deposition hearing began on May 23, 2011 and was concluded on October 28, 2011.<\/p>\n<p>The alleged sponsor of the 1994 genocide is accused of 11 counts, including conspiracy to commit genocide, genocide, complicity in genocide and direct and public incitement to commit genocide.<\/p>\n<p>Roland Amossouga also announced that the Tribunal had adjourned the special evidence hearing for the defence of Bizimana to June 25.\u00a0 \u2018\u2019Regarding Bizimana, the hearing has been postponed until 25th June, 2012 as the third defence witness said is not available before 20th June,\u2019\u2019 the Spokesman explained.<\/p>\n<p>The special deposition hearings are being conducted to preserve evidence for future use if the fugitives in question were to be arrested.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>NI\/FK\/GF<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Arusha, May 23, 2012 (FH) \u2013 While the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) Tuesday concluded defence special evidence hearing for the most wanted genocide fugitive, Felicien Kabuga similar proceedings involving former Rwandan Minister for Defence, Augustin Bizimana were adjourned to June 25, 2012.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":64,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[555],"tags":[],"ji_location":[],"class_list":["post-24432","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-hirondellenews"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v25.3.1 (Yoast SEO v25.3.1) -
