UN rights Investigators seek referral of Syria to ICC: On Monday, the United Nations human rights investigators requested the UN Security Council to refer the situation in Syria to the ICC, claiming to have gathered a formidable and extraordinary body of evidence. The investigators alleged that they had drawn up a new secret list of Syrians and military units suspected of committing war crimes that would be provided to the High Commissioner of Human Rights Navi Pillay.<\/p>\n

Court allows delay of Rwandan scholar\u2019s trial: The High Court in Kigali Tuesday adjourned for two months the trial of Rwandan former politician, Leon Mugesera, accused of inciting genocide. The next hearing is set for November 19. Judge Athanase Bakuzakundi allowed the postponement to give Mugesera, a Rwandan scholar, extra time to study his 40,000-page case file from Canada.<\/p>\n

Court to decide on Uwinkindi appeal: On Monday (September 24), the High Court in Kigali is expected to deliver a ruling on appeal by Rwandan Pastor Jean Uwinkindi, contesting a lower court decision to deny him bail.<\/p>\n
Mugesera in court again: Rwandan scholar Leon Mugesera is to appear before the Supreme Court on September 28, to receive a ruling on a separate suit he filed on a procedural issue.<\/p>\n
