Prosecution wants Rwandan genocide suspect jailed: On Monday, the prosecution in Norway\u2019s first genocide trial requested a 21-year jail term for a Rwandan businessman, Sadi Bugingo, for complicity in the murder of 2,000 people in 1994. He is accused, among others, of allegedly attending meetings during which killings were planned and ordered. The prosecution told the court there were no mitigating circumstances.<\/p>\n

Missing arrest of Kabuga: On Tuesday, a weekly magazine in Paris published an article stating that German police had in 2007 missed to arrest F\u00e9licien Kabuga, the most wanted Rwandan genocide suspect. According to Jeune Afrique, Kabuga, the alleged financier of the 1994 genocide, had entered Germany on a false Tanzanian passport. It is reported that the fugitive had gone there for treatment on chronic respiratory problems.<\/p>\n

Extradition file for ex-Rwandan minister lacking clarity: Wednesday the prosecution at the Paris Appeals Court claimed that extradition records for ex-Rwandan Minister Hyacinthe Rafiki Nsengiyumva lacked clarity and violated required rules, including being signed by same prosecutor who also signed the indictment and the arrest warrant. In reaction, Rwandan Prosecutor-General Martin Ngoga described such opinion as pathetic level of arrogance. Nsengiyumva was arrested in Paris in 2011, following an extradition request issued by Rwanda in 2008.<\/p>\n

Jallow hands over Munyarugarama file to Rwanda: The Prosecutor of the Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals Hassan Bubacar Jallow Wednesday handed over the case file of fugitive, Colonel Pheneas Munyarugarama to Rwandan Prosecutor General, Martin Ngoga. The handing over ceremony took place in Kigali. Munyarugarama, who was Commander of Gako military Camp in Kanzenze commune, Bugesera region of Kigali rural prefecture, is charged with genocide, complicity in genocide, direct and public incitement to commit genocide and crimes against humanity.<\/p>\n
