Instead, the rule for victims is the difficulty in getting to this kind of trials, for a number of reasons precisely discussed in this new podcast episode by our Asymmetrical Haircuts partners and correspondents, Janet Anderson and Stephanie van den Berg, with their guests&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/finnin_s?lang=en\">Sarah Finnin<\/a>, FIDH EU Survivors\u2019 Rights Project Coordinator and lawyer&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecchr.eu\/en\/person\/patrick-kroker\/\">Patrick Kroker<\/a>, who is responsible for ECCHR\u2019s work on Syria. Like the case in<a href=\"https:\/\/branch-251.captivate.fm\/\"> Koblenz<\/a>, which we\u2019ve covered<a href=\"https:\/\/www.asymmetricalhaircuts.com\/episodes\/justice-update-a-small-town-in-germany\/\"> here<\/a> \u2013 the first criminal trial involving state torture in Syria. The crimes were committed in Syria, the accused are Syrians, as are the survivors.
