DEFENCE CLOSES ITS CASE

Arusha, November 28, 2003 (FH) - The defence in the trial of formerRwandan Minister of Finance Emmanuel Ndindabahizi, on Friday closed its caseat the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR). Ndindabahizi 53, is charged with three counts including genocide andcrimes against humanity (extermination and murder).

He allegedly perpetratedmassacres of civilians in his home prefecture of Kibuye, western Rwanda. Ndindabahizi, who was testifying as the last defence witness, has been heardsince Monday. His testimony ended on Friday with re-examination by thethree judges hearing the case. Ndindabahizi's trial began on September 1, 2003
