Led in examination-in-chief by American lead defence counsel for the accused, Prof. Lennox Hinds, the witness code-named ‘'NBO'' for security reasons, also denied that dogs ate copses as alleged by the prosecution.
The witness ,who allegedly lived in Mkamira camp until end of June, 1994, elaborated that he spoke to several people in the camp but she neither heard nor saw dogs eating copses.
‘'If any one had been killed we would know. This is a lie,'' witness ‘'NBO'' responded to Prof. Hinds.
Like the other three protected defence witnesses who preceded her, ‘'NBO'' gave evidence mostly in closed sessions.
The prosecution led by Nigerian Ifeoma Ojemini Okali has begun cross examining the witness.
Lt. Col Setako is facing six charges including genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes. He denied the charges. The trial continues Thursday.
According to the UN estimates 800,000 people mostly Tutsis and moderate Hutus were massacres in the span of 100 days, between April 6 and July, 1994.
