The construction follows world-wide ‘'One Dollar'' campaign to raise money for the orphans' hostels.

The two-storey building, whose initial drawings are ready, will be constructed at Kinyinya in the capital Kigali, reported Tuesday the Rwandan pro-government newspaper, The New Times.

‘'What is remaining now is to set up an Executive Secretariat which will be chaired by an experienced Project Manager who will oversee the fund and the construction work. He or she will be based within the Association of Student Survivors of Genocide (AERG),'' the New Times quoted Rwandan Foreign Minister, Rosemary Museminali, as having reported during the Inter-Ministerial meeting last week.

According to the Minister, Horizon Company was selected because of its track-record in construction work and also the Ministry of Defence and the Army's positive response to the ‘'One Dollar Campaign''.

The ‘'One Dollar Campaign'', which was launched in April, had until last month already collected 2.1million US dollars out of the targeted 2.6 million US dollars. The campaign is scheduled to wind-up in December.

The construction work will start soon, according to the minister.
