Vincent Courcelle Labrousse, the accused lead French defence counsel took the floor to continue the cross-examination of a protected prosecution witness code-named CNAC who did not conclude his testimony during the last session which ended on December 17, 2009.
The cross-examination was being conducted in almost total closed session.
ICTR Senior Trial Attorney, Paul Ng'arua told Hirondelle News Agency Monday that this testimony would be followed by the 19th and last prosecution witness. He explained that after the conclusion of the prosecution case there would be a status conference before the defence commenced its case.
Nzabonimana is facing five charges-- genocide, conspiracy to commit genocide, direct and public incitement to commit genocide, extermination and murder. According to the indictment, he played an important role in the massacres of Tutsis in his hometown of Gitarama. He denied the charges.
