18.08.11 - RWANDA/FRANCE - FRENCH POLICE IN RWANDA TO INVESTIGATE GENOCIDE SUSPECTS

Kigali, August 18, 2011 (FH) - Two French gendarmes (military policemen) arrived in Kigali on Tuesday to investigate the cases of Rwandans in France suspected of involvement in the 1994 genocide.

"They are expected to stay here for two weeks. They are investigating several cases," Jean-Bosco Siboyintore, head of the Fugitive Tracking Unit in the Rwandan Prosecutor General's office, told Hirondelle News Agency.

"We have issued international arrest warrants against around fifteen genocide suspects living in France," he added, without revealing any names.

Juvénal Habyarimana's widow Agathe Kanziga is among the suspects.
