Arusha, October 28, 2011(FH) -While the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Luis Moreno Ocampo is expected to present his report on the Libyan situation next week, special hearings are set to continue in the case of genocide-fugitive Protais Mpiranya.

ICC Prosecutor report on Libya: The prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Luis Moreno Ocampo is expected on November 2, 2011 to present his report on the Libyan situation before the UN Security Council.

Katanga/Ngudjolo: Presentation of the defence case for Congolese militiamen Germain Katanga and Mathieu Ngudjolo continues on Monday. The two men are charged with crimes against humanity and war crimes for their alleged role in the attack of Bogoro (Ituri, Eastern DRC) on February 24, 2003 when over 200 people were killed.

Continuation of Bemba's trial: The trial of Jean-Pierre Bemba is expected to continue next Monday when the prosecution would present its witnesses. The hearing is expected to continue until November 4, 2011. Bemba, a Congolese senator and leader of Movement for Liberation of Congo, is charged with crimes against humanity and war crimes committed in Central African Republic between 2002 and 2003.

Special deposition for Mpiranya: on Monday, special hearings are due to continue to preserve evidence against genocide- fugitive, Major Protais Mpiranya. The former Rwandan Commander of Presidential Guard is charged with conspiracy to commit genocide, genocide or complicity in genocide, as alternative count, crimes against humanity and war crimes.
