Arusha, November 11, 2011(FH) -While the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) is set to deliver judgment in the case of former Rwandan Mayor Gregoire Ndahimana next week, trials of Congolese militiamen Germain Katanga and Mathieu Ngudjolo and that of Jean-Pierre Bemba will proceed before the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Judgment delivery for Ndahimana set for Thursday: The International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) will deliver its judgment in the case of former Mayor of Kivumu Commune in Kibuye prefecture (Western Rwanda) on November 17, 2011. Ndahimana is charged with genocide, complicity in genocide, as alternative count and extermination, as a crime against humanity. He allegedly planned with others, massacres of Tutsis at Nyange Church in his commune between April 14 and 16, 1994.

Continuation of Bemba's trial: The trial of Jean-Pierre Bemba is expected to resume on Monday with the prosecution presenting its 34th witness. Bemba, a Congolese senator and leader of Movement for Liberation of Congo, is charged with crimes against humanity and war crimes committed in Central African Republic between 2002 and 2003.

Katanga/Ngudjolo trial continues: On Tuesday, the trial of Congolese militiamen Germain Katanga and Mathieu Ngudjolo continues on Tuesday. The two men are charged with crimes against humanity and war crimes for their alleged role in the attack of Bogoro (Ituri, Eastern DRC) on February 24, 2003 when over 200 people were killed.
