Ethiopia's red terror goes to court in the U.S.
On February 25, Nigussie Mergia will face a U.S. court. He is accused of lying about his past as an alleged civilian interrogator during the Red Terror in the late 1970s in Ethiopia. Though his trial is about immigration law, it is a rare opportunity to remember the mass violence under the regime of former dictator Mengistu Hailemariam, says scholar Henok Gabisa.
