National tribunals - The country delivers justice through its own courts

Fabien Neretse is found guilty of genocide
Fabien Neretse, a former senior Rwandan civil servant, was found guilty of genocide by a Belgian court. The septuagenarian was convicted of at least eleven murders and three attempted murders, committed in Rwanda in 1994 and qualified as war crimes. Above all, he was found guilty of the crime of genocide against the Tutsis of Rwanda, a first for Belgian justice. He was sentenced to 25 years in jail.
