He is an Op-ed contributor to The New York Times and the author of three books on Rwanda, Cambodia and Sierra Leone. He has been a visiting professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA.

The leading US daily revealed on 13 March that the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) is about to seek arrest warrants for Russian officials for war crimes committed in Ukraine. The first two cases concern the abduction of Ukrainian children and their forced re-education in Russia, and deliberate strikes against civilian infrastructure.
