Seychelles: a time for truth in Paradise
On this day of May 9, the seven members of a Truth, Reconciliation and National Unity Commission are due to be inaugurated in the Seychelles. The archipelago is known mainly for its paradise beaches and private islands. But from 1977 to 1992, the people of the Seychelles lived under repressive one-party rule. The opposition now has a majority in parliament and the time has come to deal with this painful past.
